Start with the cost of stock actually purchased. Add hours at your labor cost rate, consumables, travel, equipment or subcontract costs, allocated overhead and any explicit reserve.
Keep the figures understandable
A labor cost rate is what the job costs you per hour. A selling rate may already contain overhead and profit. Entering a loaded selling rate as a cost and adding those amounts again can inflate the quote.
Purchased boards already include material that becomes offcuts and saw loss. Do not add a second automatic waste charge. A contingency is a separate planned reserve, not money already spent.
Worked pricing check
USD 260.00 of pricing cost at a 25% target margin gives a pretax price of USD 346.67. Planned profit against that budget is USD 86.67. A 25% markup gives USD 325.00 instead.
Customer details, private rates, notes and actuals belong in the local job workspace. Customer documents contain customer-facing sell prices and scope; they exclude internal costing fields.
