Confirm the blanks, then plan stock

Door & window casing calculator

Build a confirmed casing piece list from separate legs, heads and sills. Keep measuring conventions explicit before choosing stock.

The editable example calculates as soon as the tool loads.

Enter the finished blank length you actually need for each leg, head or sill. An opening width is not automatically a head length. Rough openings, reveal measurements and outside long points describe different dimensions.

Count faces as well as openings

For a synthetic doorway with casing on two faces, a confirmed list might contain four 2,100 mm legs and two 900 mm heads. That is six pieces totaling 10,200 mm. The example dimensions are user-confirmed blanks; they are not derived from a doorway size.

One 2,100 mm leg and one 900 mm head need 3,016 mm with a 3 mm kerf and 5 mm at each end. They fit a 3,600 mm board and leave 584 mm. They do not fit a 2,400 mm board together.

Before accepting a proposal

Confirm each label, length, quantity and material/profile. Enter any allowance you require in the finished blank length. This calculator does not infer miters, reveals, coping, angles or installation methods.
